The very chic Portobello laptop bags

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Portobello laptop bagsPortobello has come out with a few laptop bags that look great and aren’t quite so obviously laptop bags. Instead they blend in well with the oversized purses that have become so popular.

The line has several different options, from the overly chic to the more relaxed styles, for those that don’t really fit with the faux croc leather bags. The best part is the security that comes with having one of these bags.

Each one has a tracker ID tag, so if you lose it or it’s taken you can easily find it again. The bags start at around $300 and go up from there. Luckily they have a line for both the UK and the US as well as other parts of the world. Their bags will fit both 13” and 15” laptops.

Battery-operated mascara from Estee Lauder

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

It is rare that cosmetics make their way onto gadget blogs, however, this Estee Lauder mascara has managed to make its way onto several. Oddly, the mascara is battery-operated, to offer an extra edge above the competition.

Estee Lauder

I have on occasion been swayed to change brands due to a commercial that draws me in enough to make me think the new brand will do something new and spectacular. However, I typically find its no different from the rest. Essentially, it’s black gunk wiped across eyelashes.

Yet, this battery-operated one is supposed to offer a full 360-degree coat on your lashes by vibrating the wand. To be honest, I still am skeptical that it is anything all that revolutionary, it’s worth a shot though. It will be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue, releasing on July 17th.

Lucky Brand’s Geisha portable speakers

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Anyone who enjoys a lot of Asian artwork might enjoy these portable speakers which feature a design that is traditional Asian style mixed with a bit of pop-art. Also if you aren’t a fan of your speakers floating around in your bag without any protection, this hardshell zipper pouch might be better for those that are a little less graceful.

Geisha speakers

The pouch zips up keeping your Lucky brand speakers tucked safely away. The speakers are made with the iPod in mind, however, it does work for other MP3 players.

The speakers feature Maxbass phsycho-acoutsic technology and will run for 24 hours straight. It uses four AA batteries and is being sold for $99.99.

shoes embedded with working nintendo gameboys

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

These ostentatious shoes and boots are embedded with working Gameboys. The best part? You can pop out the Gameboys and play with them!

White Gameboy Shoes

Like almost every other cutting-edge, kooky techno-fashion mashup, these have been spotted on teenage girls in Japan. They don’t look easy to walk in, but that’s a small price to pay while looking hot and having not one but TWO Gameboys available on your person for use at any moment.

Purple Gameboy Shoes

I like this yellow pair that not only showcases your Gameboys, but also your Pikachu figurines. Seriously, guys, it wasn’t enough to have the Gameboys? You needed Pokemon characters AND Gameboys? What’s next, you throw in a joystick and a couple of Furbys?

Yellow Gameboy Shoes

I’m not sure how one can find a pair of these to purchase, as I haven’t been able to figure it out. I’m afraid the only way to get your hands on a pair is to hie thee to Harajuku. In the meantime, you can see more pictures at syberpunk.
