chicbuds headphones are brightly colored fo realz

Friday, March 19th, 2010

My wife uses her iPhone for listening to music a lot. She uses these cheap pink earphones when she listens that sound worse than the stock Apple earphones. The other day I got a really nice set of earphones for her from V-Moda that sound great. I handed them to her and told her they sound much better than what she has and her first response was those aren’t very cute. I’ll never understand women. It seems many care more for what something looks like than how it works.

A company called chicBuds has some appropriately girly headphones that come in colors that would make Stevie Wonder say man that’s bright. You can get the things in a pink color that is typically only seen in an emo girl’s hair. If the pink isn’t obnoxious enough for you, a multi-color set is also available.

I wonder if the multi-color set was painted at a Blue Man Group concert. Either color headphones are available for $29.95 (USD) and will work with any gadget using a 3.5mm headphone jack. The headphones have 44mm drivers and a frequency response of 5Hz to 20KHz, not that the specs matter, they are (debatably) cute after all.

k-touch x90+ mini twister cell phone looks cute, if not impractical

This little square box looks more like a makeup compact case than a mobile phone, but it’s definitely designed for making phone calls.

The compact K-Touch X90+ features an unusual twist-out keyboard that hides behind the screen of the square phone display. While it’s not totally decked out with features, the X90+ does offer built-in Bluetooth, dual SIM slots, dual cameras, and a touchscreen interface. The phone is available in three colors: black, white and a sort-of sparkly plum color that’s targeted at the ladies.

Unfortunately, the phone only works on 900/1800MHz GSM bands, so it won’t work in North America. Oh well, it’s not like I was going to buy one anyhow. It should work for the rest of the world, though. I’m also pretty sure this isn’t the official K-Touch X90+, rather some sort of knock-off (the photos seem to have misspelled K-Touch as K-Tcouh). But it’s not like you ever heard of K-Touch anyhow, right? If you still want one, you can find them over at ChinaGrabber for about $139 (USD).
